Royal Mail in Seaham is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to deliver letters and parcels by van and on foot, across a 30-hour week, with shifts 10:00–16:00 and Sundays required at Seaham Delivery Office. This fixed-term contract lasts 6 months and includes overtime options.

Full training, a uniform, and a red Royal Mail van are provided. A full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points) is required, along with fitness for outdoor work and reliable, self-motivated teamwork.

Job type: Fixed Term contract 6 Months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30:00 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 10:00/16:00*

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
