Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking a Postie to join the Marlow Delivery Office on a permanent, part-time basis. The role involves delivering letters and parcels, sorting at the office, and working outdoors across a 30-hour week with weekend shifts.

You’ll drive a Royal Mail van and engage with customers, contributing to a trusted postal service in the Marlow area. Training and a uniform are provided, with overtime available and some Sundays required.

Location: Marlow Delivery Office, SL7 1AA

Job type: Permanent contract

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30:00 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 08:30 0r 14:30/14:30 or 20:30*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work Sundays at Slough Delivery Office, from 11:00 to 17:00.

What To Expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily
• Working in all weather conditions
• Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels
• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
