Job summary

Royal Mail in Lochgelly is hiring a part-time Postie to deliver letters and parcels. The role involves a 30-hour week across Monday to Saturday, with a 10:00–16:00 window and weekend shifts on a rotating schedule. Salary is £13.68 per hour plus paid overtime and monthly pay.

You will drive a Royal Mail van, walk long distances, and work outdoors in all weather. Full training, a uniform, and a red van are provided.

Job type: Fixed Term contract (9 months)

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 30:00hours per week – working 5 days across Monday - Saturday– 10:00/16:00*

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
