Job summary

Royal Mail in Llandudno is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed-term 6‑month contract. The role covers 30 hours per week, Monday to Saturday, 09:00–16:00 with overtime and a moving rota guided by demand. You will deliver letters and parcels, walk routes, and serve the local community.

You’ll receive full training, a uniform, and a Royal Mail van. Eligibility requires a full UK licence, fitness for walking long distances, and comfort working outdoors in all weather.

Qualifications

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30:00 hours per week - Monday - Saturday - 09:00/16:00*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

What To Expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
