Job summary

Royal Mail in Leeds is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for a fixed-term 10-month contract at West Park Delivery Office. You will work 30 hours per week across 5 days in 7, delivering letters and parcels by van and on foot, and you will be outdoors in all weathers.

Qualifications

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment

Job type: Fixed Term 10 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 07:22/20:00*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work Sundays at West Park Delivery Office.

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
