Royal Mail in Lancaster is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to join our team and deliver letters and parcels in the local area.

You will work a rotating shift, including some weekends, with a 35-hour week and potential overtime. A full UK manual driving licence is required, with the ability to pass a driving assessment, and you must enjoy working outdoors and staying active.

Job description

Location: Lancaster Delivery Office, LA1 1AA

Job type: Permanent

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available

Working hours: 35:00 hours per week - working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - Shift times will vary from 8:00 - 20:00. Shifts will last 6 hours on average.

What You’ll Do

You'll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work Sundays once every 3 weeks.

About You

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)

• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
