Job summary

Royal Mail in Cockermouth is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to deliver letters and parcels on a 30-hour week, across five days in seven, with Sunday rota. You’ll drive a Royal Mail van, walk routes, and work outdoors in all weather.

Location: Cockermouth Delivery Office, CA13 9RP

Job type: Permanent contract

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30:00 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 07:30/14:00*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work Sundays on a rota basis.

What To Expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About You
