Job summary

Royal Mail is recruiting a Postie in Windermere to deliver letters and parcels. This permanent role involves a 30-hour week across 5 days (Mon–Sat) with shifts from 7:10am–3:30pm or 12:00–8:00pm and some weekend work. Full training, a uniform, and a Royal Mail van are provided.

You'll be active outdoors, meet customers, and work in all weather, earning £13.68 per hour with paid overtime. A full UK driving licence is required and driving assessment will be completed.

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
