Job summary

Royal Mail in London is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to deliver letters and parcels from the West London Delivery Centre. You will work a rotating shift schedule, with some weekends and variable routes, to keep communities connected.

This role is physically demanding but rewarding, offering training, a uniform, and a trusted red van to perform duties across London.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence required (max 6 penalty points).

Location: West London Delivery Centre, NW10 7NZ

Job type: Permanent

Salary: £16.24 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 37 hours per week - working (5) days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 07:00 & 12:00/15:30 & 20:00

What To Expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily
• Working in all weather conditions
• Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels
• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About You

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
