Royal Mail in Knutsford is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to sort and deliver letters and parcels on a 30-hour weekly schedule. The role is fixed-term for 9 months and includes a rotating shift with some weekend work, overtime is paid, and training provided.

You'll work outdoors, driving a Royal Mail van and engaging with customers on your route. Full training and a uniform are provided; you must hold a full manual UK driving licence and be able to pass a driving assessment.

Job type: Fixed Term contract 9 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available. Working hours: 30:00hours per week – working 4 or 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 0820/1520*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work Sundays at Knutsford Delivery Office Delivery Office 1 in every 5 weeks, may vary in peak times.

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
