Royal Mail in Hook is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to join a busy delivery team. You will deliver letters and parcels by van and on foot, work outdoors in all weather, and follow a rotating shift including weekends. Full training, a uniform, and a trusted red van are provided.

The role is physically demanding yet rewarding, with 37 hours per week over five days, and great benefits. A full UK manual driving licence and the ability to pass a driving assessment are required.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) and willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily.
• Willingness to pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, and lift 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and well-organised.
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently.

Job type: Permanent contract

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 37.00 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 07:30/15:30*

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
