Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Blairgowrie is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for a 9-month fixed-term contract. You will sort letters and parcels at the delivery office, deliver by van and on foot in the local area, and build relationships with customers.

Expect to work a 30-hour week, over five days in six, 09:00–17:00, with weekends on a rotating rota. You’ll need a full manual UK driving licence (max six penalty points), be prepared to drive a Royal Mail van daily, and pass a driving

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30:00hours per week - working 5days in 6 across Monday - Saturday - 09:00/17:00*

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
