Royal Mail in Ashford is seeking a Postie on a fixed-term 6-month contract. You will sort letters and parcels at the delivery office, and deliver by van and on foot across your local area.

The role involves building relationships with customers and working outdoors in all weathers, with a rotating weekend schedule and a 30-hour work week. You’ll be required to work Sundays on a rotational basis and will receive full training, a uniform, and a red Royal Mail van.

Qualificações

• Full manual UK driving licence (typical with up to 6 penalty points)

Location: Ashford Tn Delivery Office, TN23 1AB

Job type: Fixed Term contract 6 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30.00 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 08:00 - 15:00/14:00 - 20:30*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work Sunday afternoon shifts on a rotational basis.

What To Expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
