Job summary

Royal Mail is hiring a Postie in Worcester to deliver letters and parcels on a 30-hour week schedule. You will work across a 5 days in 7 pattern, including some weekends, with full training and a guaranteed uniform. A valid UK manual driving licence is required and you will operate a Royal Mail van in all weathers.

This fixed-term contract lasts six months, with paid overtime available. You will be part of a trusted network delivering exam results, cards, and business orders in the Worcester

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 08:00/15:30*

What To Expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily
• Working in all weather conditions
• Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels
• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
