Job summary

Royal Mail in Margate is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed-term 6-month contract. You will deliver letters and parcels on a rotating shift, 15 hours per week, including weekends, with full training provided.

You'll stay active outdoors, walk up to 12 miles, and pass a driving assessment. A full manual UK driving licence (up to 6 points) is required, plus reliability and customer‑focused service.

Location: Margate Delivery Office, CT9 1NQ

Job type: Fixed Term contract 6 months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 15.00 hours per week - working Saturday - Sunday - 08:00/16:00*

About You

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
