Job summary

Join Royal Mail Group as a Postie in Lowestoft, delivering letters and parcels while staying active and connected to the community. The role is fixed-term (6 months), part-time (30 hours/week) with a 13.68 GBP hourly rate and paid overtime, including Sunday shifts on a rotating rota.

You'll receive full training, a uniform, and a red Royal Mail van. Expect outdoors work in all weather, standing up to challenging conditions, and strong customer interaction.

Qualifications

• Hold a full manual UK driving licence with up to 6 penalty points.

Job type: Fixed Term contract (6 months) Part Time

Salary:£13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available. Working hours: 30 hours per week - working (5) days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 07:30/16:00*

You'll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You'll be required to work Sundays , Rota for Sunday working will change per business need with shifts strting from 12:00 to 18:00.

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
