Job summary

Royal Mail is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Gloucester. You will deliver letters and parcels, sort mail, and build relationships with customers on a route that may include Sundays and requires working outdoors in all weather.

The role involves driving a Royal Mail van, walking long distances, and working a rotating schedule with weekend shifts. Full training, a uniform, and a company van are provided.

Location: Gloucester South Delivery Office, GL2 4BB

Job type: Permanent contract

Salary: £13.68 per hour (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 30:00hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday

Monday to Saturday hours: 08:00 - 15:00 / 14:00 - 20:30 - AM Delivery / PM Parcel

Sunday hours: 12:00 - 18:30

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
