Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Bognor Regis is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for a fixed-term 6-month contract. You will work 30 hours per week, with 13.68 GBP per hour and overtime available, on a rotating shift including weekends. Training is provided, and a uniform and a red van are supplied.

The role involves delivering letters and parcels, walking long distances, and building relationships with customers in all weather conditions.

Job type: Fixed Termcontract 6 Months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 30hours per week - working 5days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 09:00 to 15:30/14:30 to 20:00*

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily
• Working in all weather conditions
• Delivering letters and high volumes of parcels
• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
