A.F. Blakemore & Son Ltd is hiring a SPAR Wordsley Post Office Clerk / Customer Team Member (18+). The role supports store management and aims to deliver a positive customer experience by handling tills, stock, and promotions.

The position offers flexible shifts (including mornings, days, weekends) with a minimum 18 hours weekly and up to £12.75 per hour, depending on age, in a permanent post office setting within SPAR Wordsley.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, especially Post Office.
• Reliably follows instructions with attention to detail.
• Some understanding of retail regulations and adherence responsibilities.
• Able to contribute ideas for excellent customer service and business growth.
• Experience with a 'Challenge 25' policy is desirable.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Post Office in SPAR Counter Clerk /Customer Team Member (18+). As a Post Office Counter Clerk at SPAR Wordsley,you will play a vital role in supporting our store management and creating a positive customer experience. You will assist in maximising sales and profit by carrying out allocated tasks in order to contribute to the continuous improvement of the store.

Customer Service:

• Greeting customers in a friendly and welcoming manner.
• Answering customer inquiries about products and services and assisting customers in finding the items they need.
• Processing customer purchases efficiently and accurately through the tills, maintaining a positive and friendly service
• Upselling selected products to customers and highlighting multi-buy offers, to ensure maximum sales

Store Operations:

• Working stock; checking deliveries, stocking shelves, maintaining a clean and organised sales floor, rotating stock to ensure freshness and timely expiration dates.
• Completing additional assigned tasks, such as date checking, stock and gap checking, price changes, promotional displays and other tasks as required from time to time.
• Adhering to all company policies and procedures and processes.service.

Key Skills/Knowledge:

• Previous experience in a similar role and/or industry is preferred especially Post Office
• Reliably follows instructions and procedures with excellent attention to detail
• Some understanding of legislative responsibilities of a retail environment and the skills to assist with adherence
• Ability to contribute ideas for delivering exceptional customer service and driving the business forward
• Experience of using a ‘Challenge 25’ policy desirable
• Keen and enthusiastic approach to working both in a team and independently
• Previous cash handling experience is preferred but not essential
