Under the guidance of Professor Uwe Oelfke , w e are seeking a highly motivated and creative post-doctoral training fellow who is focused on a career in research to contribute to the development and clinical implementation of online adaptive RT on advanced treatment platforms (MR-Linac, C-arm linac and gantry-based treatment units) at the Royal Marsden Hospital (RMH).
The successful candidate will develop a framework for dynamic plan refinement in real-time for MR-guided RT, acceleration of automated, on-line adaptive treatment planning and devise strategies for quality assurance (QA) of real-time adapted RT. The final aim of this research is to demonstrate benefit of this cutting‑edge technology for patients in collaboration with clinicians and industrial partners.
The projected research is part of a larger program of work funded by a Cancer Research UK (CRUK) program grant and the successful candidate will drive the work forward within a multi-disciplinary team of computer scientists, medical physicists and clinicians in the Joint Department of Physics at the Institute of Cancer Research and the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful candidate must have:
Candidates who are nearing completion of their PhD may apply, but confirmation of awarded PhD is required within 6 months of employment.
