Job summary

UK Finance is seeking an analyst to support the CMORG PMO and sector resilience workstreams. The role involves coordinating with the Bank of England, maintaining schedules, action logs and risk registers, and developing CMORG artefacts for sector-wide delivery.

The successful candidate will engage with industry stakeholders, draft meeting papers, and help manage communications and events related to CMORG activities.

Job description

The analyst will support UK Finance's sector resilience activity, principally on the operations and delivery activity of the Cross Market Operational Resilience Group (CMORG), and the partnership with the Bank of England on the CMORG Project Management Office (PMO).

CMORG is a public-private partnership between UK Finance and the Bank of England and is the most senior body established to oversee collective action strategies to improve the resilience of the sector. Membership is made up of Chief Operating, Risk and Information Officers from across markets. It is supported by specialist subgroups led by industry participants to oversee collective action activity. The PMO plays a central role in managing CMORG and its priorities.

The analyst will support the day-to-day activity of the CMORG PMO, the design and delivery of CMORG's workplans and communication, and engagement with the wider sector on sector resilience improvements. The role will also support broader resilience and cyber activity within UK Finance where required.

The role provides the opportunity to develop a detailed understanding of financial sector resilience issues, insight into industry and authorities' perspectives, and an ability to drive public-private partnership workstreams.

The role will also support CMORG's sector exercising programme and the oversight of the Sector Response Framework.

Key Responsibilities

CMORG PMO

Support the day-to-day management of the CMORG PMO, including collaborating with the Bank of England to develop the PMO schedule, priorities, meeting papers and recording and following up on actions.

Support the team in the development and delivery of CMORG's priorities and workplans, including project managing workstreams, supporting sector activities, and managing project documentation. This includes developing and maintaining management information, project plans / Gantt charts, action logs, risk logs, and other materials as required.

Support the development of key CMORG workstreams and artefacts, 'holding the pen' where required and working with industry and authorities' stakeholders to gain and implement views and feedback to support the finalisation of outputs.

Support the ongoing maintenance and evolution of the Strategic Risk Register (SRR) which provides a holistic view of the sectoral risks and provides the basis for CMORG's prioritisation of activity.

Co-secretariat CMORG, the senior group with oversight of the sector’s collective action strategy. This is run in partnership with the Bank of England. This will include supporting and developing meeting papers, minutes, tracking and overseeing actions, and coordinating logistics.

Co-secretariat the Sector Response Framework Group (SRFG) and support the group's co-chairs in its oversight of the SRF, the framework in which the industry collectively responds to systemic incidents.

Secretariat the CMORG Briefers Group, the group responsible for supporting CMORG members in their strategic oversight roles.

Develop relationships across the industry, supporting the activities of CMORG Working Groups and Engagement Groups.

Support the Principal on timely completion of key deliverables across the CMORG portfolio.

Strategic capabilities

Own and co-deliver CMORG's external communication plan that socialises the outputs from CMORG to the wider sector.

Own the management and maintenance of the CMORG website and CMORG LinkedIn page, including uploading content and managing the onboarding process for industry participants signing up for member accounts to access non-public artefacts.

Lead the planning and logistics for the CMORG Conference, webinars, and other CMORG-related communications events. This may include coordinating with speakers, collaborating with the UK Finance Events team, acting as a point of contact for attendees, and supporting on logistics planning.

Draft materials for sector resilience briefings for internal and external stakeholders as required.
