Qualifications

  • Essential: MBBS or equivalent GMC-recognized qualification, Full GMC registration, MRCS.

Job summary

This is an ideal opportunity for a post CCT candidate to work and gain experience in a medium-sized District General Hospital.

The successful candidate will be expected to support the General Surgical on-call rota, contribute to Colorectal Service provision, and support junior members of the clinical team. There will be opportunities to develop a special interest in several subspecialist areas in Colorectal Surgery.

The successful candidate will be expected to participate in service improvement projects, audits, and, if they wish, research within the department.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be part of the Colorectal team, supporting the wider General Surgical team on an on-call rota basis. The service is multidisciplinary, and the post holder is expected to work as part of a healthcare professional team under the supervision of a Consultant Surgeon.
