Job summaryClinical Fellow in Minimally Invasive SurgeryFull time post - 40 hours per week1 year fixed termBased at Barnet hospital (main base)Main duties of the jobWe are seeking a highly motivated Clinical Fellow in Minimally Invasive Surgery to join our team. This role is ideal for candidates at ST5 level or above who have successfully completed MRCOG Part 3 and have a strong interest in benign gynaecology and minimal access surgery. The fellowship provides the candidate to acquire skills in the comprehensive management of complex benign gynaecological conditions including regular exposure and training in advanced laparoscopic surgery and a structured gynaecological scanning programme further enhancing diagnostic and surgical planning capabilities.
About usThe fellow will be expected to actively engage in research, with a strong emphasis on publication in peer-reviewed journals and presentation at national and international conferences such as BSGE or similar. Teaching is a mandatory component of the role, and the fellow will contribute to the education with a particular focus on simulation for junior resident doctors.

Person SpecificationQualifications and RegistrationEssential- Full registration with the relevant medical council (e.g., GMC or equivalent)
- Completion of Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) or an equivalent qualification
- Eligibility to work at the level of a senior trainee, post-CCT fellow, or equivalent
ExperienceEssential- Training in general gynaecological surgery, including diagnostic laparoscopy and hysteroscopy
- Demonstrable interest in minimally invasive gynaecology with a commitment to learning advanced techniques
- Basic knowledge of endometriosis management, including an understanding of the NICE guidelines, diagnostic pathways, and multidisciplinary approaches to care
