Job summary

Randstad Education is partnering with a Bromley-based FE provider to recruit a Student Progress & Pastoral Mentor on a term-time-only contract. You will lead weekly group tutorials, manage a sizeable pastoral caseload, and support students toward higher education or employment.

The role requires a background in youth work or FE, strong communication, and safeguarding awareness. DBS checks and right-to-work verification apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 literacy and numeracy required.
• Experience running group workshops and delivering 1-to-1 support to young people.
• A relevant degree (such as Youth Work) or FE experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate weekly group tutorials covering safeguarding, study skills, pastoral themes, careers and social action projects.
• Oversee a pastoral caseload averaging 15 tutorial groups (~300 students).
• Conduct 1-to-1 progress meetings to set SMART goals and track progress.
• Coordinate attendance and behaviour interventions with staff, parents and external agencies.
• Be the first point of contact for student welfare and refer to safeguarding teams as needed.
• Guide students through UCAS applications and Gatsby benchmarks.
• Attend progress reviews, open days and college events.
