Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council is recruiting a full-time Personal Advisor in Huntingdon to support care-experienced young people aged 18–25 as they transition to independence. You will assess needs, co-create Pathway Plans and provide consistent, trusted guidance working with families and partner agencies across education, housing and health.

The role requires a commitment to diverse backgrounds, strong organisational skills, and willingness to travel around Cambridgeshire and beyond.

Qualifications

• Hold a minimum of an NVQ level 3 qualification or equivalent in a relevant work area.
• Commit to working with young people from diverse backgrounds, who have diverse needs, promoting good outcomes for all our care leavers.
• Possess excellent organisational skills, strong personal resilience, and a passion for working with young people to improve their outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance, advice and practical support to Care Leavers aged 18–25.
• Co-create meaningful Pathway Plans and walk alongside Care Leavers as a trusted professional.
• Collaborate with families, friends and professionals across education, housing and health to remove barriers to success.
• Maintain regular, purposeful contact and keep clear, accurate, timely records.
