Full-Time
Make a Real Difference, Every Day!

We're looking for an experienced, qualified Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Specialist to join our Adults Residential service in Stoke-on-Trent. This is a hands-on, in-house role at the heart of the service, working alongside the PBS Lead, Registered Manager, and the wider staff team to help the people we support live calmer, more independent, and more fulfilling lives.

You'll bring PBS expertise directly into the home, turning assessments and evidence-based strategies into everyday practice, coaching staff, reducing restrictive practice, and making sure support stays person-centred through the good days and the harder ones.

About Us:

iBC Healthcare Group is a leading health and social care provider, supporting hundreds of individuals with learning disabilities, complex needs, autism, physical disabilities, and mental ill health needs. We hold contracts with over 20 Local Authorities and Integrated Care Boards, and we invest heavily in our people to make sure every person we support is listened to, valued, and helped to live a meaningful life.

About The Role

We're looking for a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) In-House Specialist to join our Adults Residential service in Stoke-on-Trent. You'll work in partnership with the people we support and their wider care teams to understand their needs, history, and goals, and to develop evidence-based PBS strategies that improve quality of life while reducing behaviours of concern and restrictive practice.

Reporting to the PBS Lead and Registered Manager, you'll be a visible, hands-on presence within the service, completing assessments and PBS plans, coaching and upskilling the staff team, and championing person-centred, least-restrictive support at every stage.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Carrying out observations, functional assessments, PBS plans, plan audits, and competency checks for the people we support.
  • Using evidence-based approaches, including active support, intensive interaction, low arousal, SPELL, PERMA, and trauma-informed care to develop practical, effective strategies.
  • Monitoring PBS plans in practice and supporting consistency of approach across the staff team.
  • Advising, coaching, and training managers and staff through workshops, on-site support, and role modelling.
  • Supporting incident analysis, de-briefs, and reporting, and championing IBC's commitment to restraint and restrictive practice reduction, in line with the RRN pledge and STOMP.
  • Confidently challenging and reporting any concerns around poor or abusive practice.
  • Attending and contributing to multi-disciplinary meetings and working collaboratively across the wider care team.
  • Maintaining your own professional development and keeping up to date with PBS research and best practice.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
  • Minimum Level 4 PBS qualification.
  • Minimum Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification (or equivalent).
  • At least 2 years' experience as a support worker in a health or social care setting, including direct experience supporting people who display behaviours of concern.
  • Experience developing and implementing PBS plans and strategies in practice.
  • Strong knowledge of the PBS framework, MCA, DoLS, human rights, and equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and record-writing skills, with confident use of Microsoft Office and Teams.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, with a willingness to travel as required.
You’ll also bring:
  • A caring, patient, and person-centred approach, with the confidence to coach and mentor others.
  • The ability to stay calm, professional, and solution-focused in challenging situations.
  • A genuine commitment to reducing restrictive practice and improving outcomes for the people we support.
Why Join iBC Healthcare:
  • The chance to make a real, lasting difference in the lives of the people we support.
  • A supportive PBS Lead and Registered Manager, and a service genuinely invested in getting this right.
  • Ongoing training and professional development to help you grow in your PBS career.
  • A collaborative, values-led team culture built around person-centred care.
