Job summary

Randstad Construction & Property is seeking a Portfolio Accountant / Service Charge Accountant in Croydon, Surrey, offering hybrid and flexible working. The role covers end-to-end service charge accounting for a dedicated property portfolio and requires collaboration with Property Managers, clients, and auditors.

You will manage year-end accounts, accruals, VAT submissions, and client audits while supporting onboarding of new properties.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Service Charge Accountant, Portfolio Accountant, or Block Property Accountant.
• Strong knowledge of residential property management regulations (RICS, ARMA-Q).
• Hands-on experience with property accounting systems (Qube, Yardi, Tramps) and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end service charge accounts following RICS Codes of Practice and ARMA rules.
• Manage accruals, prepayments, developer voids, income splits, and balancing adjustments.
• Coordinate client audits, submit VAT returns to HMRC, and issue Section 20b notices.
• Resolve complex accounting queries with property managers, freeholders, and RMCs.
• Assist with the financial onboarding of newly acquired properties.
