Job summary

Circle Health Group is seeking a Porter (Bank) at The Clementine Churchill Hospital in Harrow. This bank role requires flexibility to cover busy periods and annual leave across the portering team.

Responsibilities include assisting with patient, equipment and goods movement, guiding patients and visitors, and maintaining patient comfort and hospital security. GCSEs in Maths and English are expected, with PC literacy essential.

Qualifications

• Front line customer facing experience is required.
• Previous portering experience in healthcare, hotel or hospitality is beneficial.
• Maths and English GCSE at grade A-C or equivalent required.
• Proficiency in using a PC and hospital IT systems is expected.

Responsibilities

• Undertake a range of general tasks to meet site requirements, including movement of patients, equipment and goods.
• Escort patients to rooms or hospital areas and explain facilities and services.
• Provide courteous service to internal and external customers.
• Ensure patient comfort and dignity is maintained at all times.
• Provide security for the facility and comply with security processes as required.
• Complete mandatory training as required.

Salary: Up to £12.71 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

The Clementine Churchill Hospital in Harrow Is part of Circle Health Group , Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Porter to join their team of staff in the Portering department.

This is a bank role working on an "as and when required" basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Duties of this role include:

• Undertake a range of general and ad hoc tasks on a day-to-day basis to meet the requirements of the site such as patient, equipment, and goods (e.g., pharmacy goods) movement.
• Explain hospital facilities and services to patients and family members when escorting people to rooms or other hospital areas.
• Provide a courteous service to internal and external customers.
• Ensure patient comfort and dignity are always maintained.
• Provide security for the facility as required within each specific hospital, ensuring compliance of security processes and external patrols are covered as appropriate to the hospital.
• Comply with all relevant mandatory training.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Front line customer facing experience.
• Previous portering experience in a healthcare, hotel or hospitality setting would be beneficial.
• Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
• Proficiency in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems.
