Overview Of Role

A Linen Porter manages the collection, sorting, and delivery of clean and soiled linens. They ensure linen stocks are maintained and report any issues with inventory. Responsibilities include operating laundry equipment, adhering to hygiene standards, and coordinating with housekeeping to meet luxury standards. Attention to detail, organization, and efficient time management are key to maintaining high service levels.

• The Linen Porter is expected to:
• Collect, sort, and deliver clean and soiled linens to appropriate areas.
• Monitor linen inventory levels and report shortages or damage.
• Inspect linens for cleanliness, wear, and damage before distribution.
• Maintain a well-organized linen storage area.
• Follow health and safety standards and departmental procedures.
• Coordinate with housekeeping and other departments for efficient linen handling.
• Operate and maintain laundry and linen handling equipment properly.
• Address and resolve any linen-related issues or guest requests.
• Always maintain professionalism.
• Be a positive ambassador of The NoMad throughout your career with us.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including H&S policies, HR policies, and the employee handbook.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the Linen Porter include, but are not limited to:

• Supporting the Housekeeping Management team with duties such as distributing linen and other products throughout the hotel.
• Assisting with general cleaning of guest areas, ensuring they are clean, free of refuse, well maintained, and properly staged.
• Maintaining the presentation of guest corridors, linen cupboards, and back-of-house areas.
• Carrying out inventory checks of linen, goods, and equipment.
• Notifying management of missing supplies or discrepancies.
• Replenishing the Room Attendant cupboards regularly.
• Delivering guest request items to rooms as per hotel procedures.
• Checking received goods against orders and reporting discrepancies.
• Storing goods following FIFO and safety regulations.
• Cleaning equipment after use.
• Performing deep cleaning as instructed.
• Performing additional tasks as needed.
• Ensuring guest satisfaction in all duties.
• Interacting with guests positively and respectfully.
• Following H&S and Standard Operating Procedures at all times.
