Job summary

Cygnet Group is seeking a passionate Hospital Porter & Driver to support patients and staff at Cygnet Hospital Bury Hudson. This full-time role (40 hours) runs from 8:30am to 5pm, focusing on maintaining a safe, clean environment.

You will handle mail, deliveries, linen, furniture moves, and vehicle checks, with the chance to develop within a national network of mental health services.

Qualifications

• A full, clean & valid UK driving license.
• Friendly, conscientious & an excellent team member with a positive attitude.
• Excellent communication & organisational skills.
• Previous experience of working in a healthcare setting (desirable).

Responsibilities

• To carry out the collection, sorting and delivery of internal and external mail and parcels throughout the hospital.
• To provide a delivery and collection service for clinical and office equipment to include clinic consumables, stationery, letters and parcels, furniture, waste cardboard and confidential waste across all hospital buildings.
• Responsible for the delivery and collection of clean and dirty linen to and from wards and to liaise with the external laundry service provider to manage deliveries and collections and to ensure that stocks of linen are maintained.
• To move furniture and equipment as required including the dismantling and disposal.
• Carry out routine maintenance checks on vehicle. Also carry and use a Hospital fuel purchase card.
• To complete office moves as requested by the Administration Manager.
• To produce a weekly and monthly report on the use of the cars to be sent to the head of support services.

Cygnet Bury Hudson providesa wide range of securemental health services for men including individuals with a diagnosis of personality disorder.
