Job summary

Peel Ports in Glasgow is seeking a Port Operative to join a busy ship-to-shore team. You will operate plant, machinery and equipment across Clydeport and contribute to safe, efficient port operations while maintaining high housekeeping standards.

The role offers opportunities to develop skills through training and multi-skilled work across various operational activities, with a strong health and safety focus.

Qualifications

• Experience in an industrial or port environment.
• Experience operating loading shovels, 360 excavators, FLTs or telehandlers is advantageous.
• Able to work safely in a busy operational setting and at height.
• NPORS Slinger/Signaller qualification (or equivalent) is beneficial.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant, machinery and equipment as part of a team delivering safe and efficient port operations.
• Report defects and malfunctions promptly.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace hygiene.
• Support a positive safety culture and adhere to Peel Ports' standards.
• Be multi-skilled across a range of operational activities and training opportunities.
