Job summary

CalMac Ferries in Brodick and Lochranza is recruiting for three permanent port assistant posts. You will support day-to-day pier operations, vessel turnarounds, passenger and freight embarkation, and ticketing in the ticket office.

The role combines pier work with customer service duties and Night Watch shifts on vessels. The pattern includes four days over seven for pier/ticketing and seven days on/off for Night Watch, with weekend and public holiday cover.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with day-to-day pier operations and vessel turnarounds.
• Providing customer service and ticketing support in the ticket office.
• Carrying out Night Watch duties aboard vessels in line with company procedures.
• Supporting the safe embarkation and disembarkation of passengers, vehicles and freight.
• Responding to customer enquiries and giving travel information.
• Working with colleagues to keep port and vessel operations running smoothly.
• Maintaining safety, security and housekeeping standards across all work areas.
