Job summary

Forth Ports invites applications for two Service Technicians to join the LCTE Engineering team at the Port of Tilbury. You will perform planned maintenance, fault diagnosis and mechanical/electrical repairs on Straddle Carriers, Ship-to-Shore Cranes, and other terminal equipment, ensuring safety and reliability.

You will document work, support operational plant, and collaborate with engineers and shift Supervisors to minimise downtime and maintain high performance across the terminal.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ, ONC or HNC in an engineering related discipline.
• Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on terminal equipment.
• Fault diagnosis and mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Record maintenance activities using the designated maintenance reporting software.
• Communicate updates to supervision and management.
• Work across mechanical and electrical disciplines to maximise equipment reliability.
• Safely operate engineering plant and equipment.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping in workshops and on equipment.
• Be flexible to shift patterns and overtime as required.
