Job summary

Thames Valley Police seeks an experienced vehicle technician to keep frontline police vehicles on the road, ensuring reliability and safety. You’ll work on a diverse fleet, from patrol cars to motorcycles, with modern diagnostic tools and structured, daytime hours.

There’s clear progression toward Master Technician status and a market supplement in Band 3G. You will diagnose complex faults, perform preventive maintenance, conduct road-tests, and maintain accurate records, all while upholding

Linked Grade, Band 3F circa £36,339 per annum, rising to Band 3G, circa £40,474 (both inclusive of £4,000 market supplement) based on skills, knowledge and relevant experience, plus benefits

• High-performance response vehicles
• Patrol cars and vans
