Job summary

Thames Valley Police is seeking a People Services Administrator on a secondment/fixed-term contract, part-time basis, primarily based at Sulhamstead with hybrid working options. The role focuses on delivering high-quality confidential service to staff, officers and external stakeholders in line with force policies.

You will need to be adaptable, proactive and able to manage multiple tasks while maintaining professional standards.

People Services Administrator (Secondment/Fixed Term Contract, Part Time)

In this role, you will provide a high quality, confidential service and advice to internal and external customers, through a range of communication channels, based on Force policies and procedures and be accountable for service protocols within their remit.

The successful candidate will need to be approachable, flexible, fair and professional. The role will require you to be creative and passionate about delivering a quality service to Staff, Officers, internal and external stakeholders. Attention to detail is crucial as well as the ability to problem solve, use your initiative, be able to manage a number of different tasks at the same time and make appropriate decisions.

You will have a proven ability to organise, plan, manage and prioritise workloads. Be adaptable, flexible and resilient with a willingness to learn new processes.

This is an active role that involves welcoming candidates and moving between floors several times a day. Please be aware that access between floors is via stairs only, as there is no lift in the building.

The working pattern is Tuesday 8am-4pm, Wednesday 8am – 4pm and Thursday 8am – 4pm

If you are a permanent member of staff applying for this role, please note it will be offered on a secondment basis. Important: All secondments must be supported in writing by your Line Manager and Head of Department/Commander or Deputy. Please attach written approval from your line manager and Head of Department in your application. If the secondment is not supported then the role may be offered on a fixed term contract basis, but this has implications including loss of continuous service protections.

Please note: Shift allowance, on-call or other job related allowances from the previous role will not be protected unless they are attached to the new role for the duration of the secondment.
