Job summary

Sussex Police invites applications for a Police Enquiry Officer based in Guildford. You will be the vital link between the public and the force, handling enquiries, supporting investigations and backing up frontline officers.

You’ll work a mobile pattern across Surrey, with full training before transferring to Front Counter. A 30 wpm typing speed and good IT literacy are required, plus 18+ years old and no essential prior experience.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service is desirable but not essential.
• You’ll need to type at a good speed (min. 30 words per minute) and have good IT literacy.
• Education: desirable that candidates are educated to QCF Level 2 in English and Maths.
• Must be 18 years or over on the day you submit your application.

Responsibilities

• Be the vital link between the public and the force, handling enquiries and supporting investigations.
• Oversee the opening and closing of the Police Counter at published times.
• Deal with enquiries face to face, by phone and by email, using various computer systems.
• Record information onto our systems and risk assess incidents to direct the right teams.
• Provide high-quality customer service to internal and external customers including senior officers.
• Travel across Surrey to work from different Police Stations on a mobile contract.
• Receive full training before transferring to Front Counter.
