Job summary

North Wales Police invites applications for a Police National Computer (PNC) Assistant on a permanent basis. You will update and disseminate information held on the PNC, including Criminal Records via the Phoenix Application, and handle PNC check inquiries from officers and non-police agencies.

You will manage the warrant database and perform system searches, working 37 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern, with 14% shift allowance and 2.5% weekend allowance.

Qualifications

  • Possess a relevant NVQ level 3 qualification or equivalent.
  • Clerical and administrative skills including filing and mail distribution.
  • Ability to disseminate data from multiple sources.
  • Proven communication skills and ability to work well in a large team.
  • IT literacy with at least 35 wpm and good MS Office knowledge.
  • Self-motivated and proactive; able to prioritise tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and use judgement.

Responsibilities

  • Update and disseminate information on all PNC applications including Criminal Records via Phoenix.
  • Receive and handle telephone enquiries relating to PNC checks from officers and agencies.
  • Manage and administer the warrant database and related tasks to ensure warrants are executed efficiently.
  • Conduct searches on various systems as required.
