Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment Ltd are seeking a dedicated PMLD Teaching Assistant for a specialist school in Guildford (GU5). You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with PMLD and complex needs, inside and outside the classroom.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• The ability to follow individual support and care plans.
• Valid Child and Adult DBS essential.

Are you a patient, compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a strong background supporting children and young people with PMLD and complex needs?

We are recruiting for a PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in the Guildford GU5 area, supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties and a range of additional needs.

This role would suit someone who is passionate about specialist education and understands the importance of providing personalised, nurturing and consistent support.

The Role

As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with PMLD and complex needs.

• Support pupils inside and outside the classroom.

Who We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

Experience with Makaton, PECS, AAC, sensory approaches, moving and handling or other specialist support strategies would be beneficial.

A formal teaching qualification is not essential. If you have strong hands‑on experience supporting pupils with PMLD or complex needs, we'd like to hear from you.
