Job summary

Supply Desk Ltd is partnering with a welcoming specialist setting in Hayes to appoint a compassionate PMLD Teaching Assistant to support pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties.

You will work closely with teachers and therapists to deliver personalised learning plans, promoting independence, communication and wellbeing for vulnerable learners in a supportive, well-equipped environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or adults with PMLD, complex needs or SEN.
• Patient, compassionate and proactive approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work full-time in the Maidenhead area (ASAP or from September).
• Genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners.
• Experience in a specialist SEN school or similar setting.
• Knowledge of Makaton, PECS or other communication systems.
• Experience supporting pupils with physical disabilities and complex medical needs.
• Understanding of safeguarding and SEN best practices.
• Relevant qualifications in health & social care or education.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with PMLD on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.

The Role

As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with complex learning difficulties and additional needs, working closely with teachers and therapists to deliver personalised, meaningful learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with PMLD on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
