Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a caring, patient and dedicated PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEN setting in Milton Keynes.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with PMLD and complex needs, assist with communication, mobility, personal care where required, and work closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals to help pupils access learning and build independence.

Qualifications

• Experience with PMLD, SEND or complex needs is beneficial.
• Experience in care or support roles transferable to education.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with PMLD and complex needs.
• Support pupils with communication, sensory, physical and medical needs.
• Assist with personal care where required.
• Support mobility, positioning and moving and handling with guidance.
• Help pupils access classroom activities and individual learning programmes.
• Support communication through appropriate strategies and resources.
• Create a calm, safe and positive learning environment.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals.
• Encourage independence, confidence and participation.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety and school policies.
