Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd is seeking a caring Support Assistant to work in a specialist school supporting pupils with PMLD and complex needs. You will provide personalised assistance to pupils throughout the school day, helping them access learning and stay safe, included, and supported.

You will collaborate with teachers and therapists to deliver individualised plans, support personal care routines, and encourage independence and communication.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Patient, calm and compassionate approach.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils with high needs.
• Willingness to work as part of a school team.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support in classroom and personal care routines.
• Support sensory activities, physical development and communication strategies.
• Encourage independence, confidence and social skills.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other professionals.
• Create a positive, structured environment where pupils can learn.
