Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Morpeth. The role is full time, term-time only, with a daily rate of £98–£120 for Monday–Friday. You will help pupils with profound learning needs access learning and communicate their needs using tailored strategies.

Experience in PMLD or SEND is beneficial, and candidates from care, healthcare or support backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Safeguarding checks and DBS are required.

Qualifications

• Previous PMLD or SEND experience is beneficial.
• Candidates from care, healthcare and support work backgrounds are welcome.
• All applicants must undertake safeguarding checks and DBS processes.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties and complex communication needs.
• Help pupils to communicate their needs and make choices.
• Engage pupils in sensory activities and personalised strategies.
• Support participation in lessons and develop independence.
• Build relationships and support exploration of new experiences.
