Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Morpeth. The role is full time, term-time only, with a daily rate of £98–£120 for Monday–Friday. You will help pupils with profound learning needs access learning and communicate their needs using tailored strategies.

Experience in PMLD or SEND is beneficial, and candidates from care, healthcare or support backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Safeguarding checks and DBS are required.

Protocol Education is recruiting a PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Morpeth.

The pupils require highly personalised support, and you'll help them access learning and communicate their needs in ways that work for them.

The Role

You may support pupils with:

• Profound and multiple learning difficulties
• Complex communication needs
• Sensory processing needs
• Physical disabilities
• Learning difficulties
• Autism
• Personal care requirements

You'll help pupils to:

• Communicate their needs
• Make choices
• Engage with sensory activities
• Participate in lessons
• Develop independence
• Build relationships
• Explore new experiences

You may use visual resources, objects of reference, communication aids, sensory activities and personalised strategies to support individual pupils.

We're Looking For

Previous PMLD or SEND experience would be beneficial, but we're also interested in candidates from care, healthcare and support work backgrounds.
