Job summary

Protocol Education Limited is seeking a caring PMLD Teaching Assistant in Gateshead to support pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties. You will help pupils access a personalised curriculum, working 8:30am to 3:45pm, Monday to Friday, in a specialist school setting.

The role involves 1:1 and small group support, sensory activities, communication and social interaction assistance, and personal care where needed.

Qualifications

• Compassionate and patient approach to supporting pupils with complex needs.
• Ability to engage and support children with SEND through personalised activities.
• Strong communication with pupils, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis.
• Assist with sensory-based learning activities.
• Support communication and social interaction.
• Provide personal care and mobility support where required.
• Work alongside teachers, therapists and support staff.
