Job summary

Protocol Education Limited is seeking a dedicated PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision in Sunderland. You will support students with complex learning, communication, and physical needs on a 1:1 and small-group basis, fostering an inclusive classroom environment.

The role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:45pm, full-time. DBS checks, safeguarding training, and compliance with DfE guidance are required, with paid statutory holiday.

Qualifications

• Experience in SEND, care or support is welcomed.
• DBS check and safeguarding training required.
• Flexibility to work in a specialist provision.

Responsibilities

• Providing classroom support on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Assisting with sensory learning activities.
• Supporting students with communication and interaction.
• Assisting with personal care and mobility when required.
• Working closely with teachers and therapists.
• Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
