Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with PMLD and complex needs at a specialist SEND school in Morpeth. You will help pupils feel safe, supported and included while encouraging communication, engagement and independence.

The role involves 1:1 support, personalised activities, and collaboration with teachers and specialist staff. Term-time, full-time hours with a competitive daily rate apply.

Qualifications

• Experience with PMLD and complex SEND.
• Experience in SEN education or healthcare is beneficial.
• DBS check and safeguarding training required.

Protocol Education is working with a specialist SEND school in Morpeth seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with PMLD and complex needs.

You’ll become an important part of the pupils' daily routine, helping them feel safe, supported and included while encouraging communication, engagement and independence.

What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis
• Assisting with personalised learning activities
• Supporting communication and interaction
• Helping pupils participate in sensory activities
• Encouraging independence and choice
• Supporting mobility and physical needs
• Providing personal care when required
• Following individual support plans
• Recording and communicating progress
• Working closely with teachers and specialist staff
