Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd is seeking passionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support students with PMLD in Kingston-based primary and secondary schools. You will work closely with teachers and therapists to create a nurturing, stimulating environment tailored to each child’s needs.

Key responsibilities include 1:1 and small group support, assisting with personal care, supporting sensory learning, and collaborating with SEN teams.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with PMLD or complex needs.
• Understanding of SEN strategies and communication tools (e.g., PECS, Makaton, sensory integration).
• Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one through us).
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach, Moving & Handling) are desirable but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASD /PMLD.
• Assist with personal care and mobility needs.
• Support sensory-based learning and therapeutic activities.
• Promote independence and emotional well-being.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including SENCOs, speech therapists, and physiotherapists.
• Ensure safeguarding and uphold school policies.
