Job summary

Prospero Teaching are seeking a dedicated PMLD Specialist to support 5 pupils within a specialist SEN school in Dudley. The role involves providing person-centred support for pupils with PMLD and complex medical needs, including mobility and transfers.

The successful candidate will work with teachers and other professionals, follow care plans and safeguarding procedures, and help pupils develop communication, sensory, and independence skills in a safe, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with PMLD and complex needs in SEN setting.
• Hoist or Manual Handling training essential.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

PMLD Specialist Required SEN School

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced PMLD Specialist to support 5 pupils within a specialist SEN school setting in Dudley.

The successful candidate will have experience supporting children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex additional needs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about providing high-quality, person-centred support and helping pupils achieve their full potential.

The Role:

• Supporting a small group of 5 pupils with PMLD and complex medical needs.


• Providing personalised support to meet each pupil's individual learning, care and communication needs.


• Supporting pupils who are wheelchair users with mobility and transfers.


• Working alongside teachers, teaching assistants and other professionals within the school.


• Following individual care plans, risk assessments and moving and handling procedures.


• Supporting pupil's communication, sensory development, engagement and independence.


• Maintaining a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience working with PMLD, complex needs or within an SEN/specialist school environment.


• Hoist trained or Manual Handling trained essential due to supporting wheelchair users.


• Experience supporting individuals with complex medical needs is highly desirable.


• Patient, compassionate and confident when providing physical and personal support.


• Able to follow care plans and safeguarding procedures effectively.


• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.


• A proactive and flexible approach to supporting pupils with a wide range of needs.


• Available to start ASAP.
