Job summary

Remedy Education is recruiting a PMLD Teacher for an SEN school in Romford. The role requires QTS and experience with pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities, enabling highly differentiated, sensory-based lessons.

You will work closely with Teaching Assistants and therapists to implement EHCP targets, support communication using Makaton/PECS, and monitor progress in a nurturing, inclusive classroom.

Qualifications

• Must hold QTS to be considered.
• Experience teaching pupils with PMLD or complex SEN preferred.
• Experience using sensory-based teaching and alternative communication methods.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative, sensory-based lessons for pupils with PMLD.
• Adapt teaching to meet complex learning, physical and communication needs.
• Develop and implement individual learning plans aligned with EHCP targets.
• Collaborate with Teaching Assistants, therapists and other specialists.
• Support pupils' communication using Makaton, PECS and sensory resources.
• Monitor pupil progress using SEN assessment frameworks.
• Create a positive, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
• Support pupils' personal, social and emotional development.
