Job summary

Areera Ltd. in Huddersfield is seeking a hands-on PM Shift Manager to lead our recycling and production facility in Milnsbridge.

You will oversee production targets, manage both permanent and agency staff, ensure health and safety, and coordinate with transport to keep operations running smoothly. This is a busy, operational role requiring strong leadership, clear communication and a practical, proactive approach.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory experience in manufacturing or recycling environments.
• Strong people management skills for operational teams.
• Understanding of workplace health and safety in production.
• Experience delivering production targets and KPIs.
• Good organisational skills to coordinate multiple activities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day PM shift to meet production targets.
• Lead and motivate recycling operatives (permanent and agency).
• Oversee yard operations for safe handling and storage.
• Coordinate with transport on vehicle movements and site requirements.
• Manage staffing, attendance, and holidays.
• Recruitment, onboarding and training of new employees.
• Monitor performance, attendance, safety, and PPE usage.
• Identify hazards and incidents and take appropriate action.
• Report on performance and implement improvements.
• Ensure machinery and work areas are safe and maintained.
• Prepare production reports and shift handovers.
